Using vintage lenses in a modern way.

This past year I finally embraced the mirror-less camera by purchasing a Fujifilm X-E1. It is a great little camera in it’s own right and Fuji makes some great lens for the X-system cameras.

But, that is not why I bought it, the reason I purchased the little Fuji was for the ability to use my vast collection of vintage lens. With inexpensive adaptors I have purchased, I am able use my FD mount (Canon), Nikon Mount, M42 mount and my favorite Minolta Rokkor lens. Yes there are adaptors for my Canon EF mount DSLR, but the X-E1 has an electronic viewfinder that makes focusing with a manual lens a breeze. Using the Fuji fully manually has really brought a feeling that prior to using it I only experienced with my film rangefinders. I am able to be non-threatening on the street, carry the camera with me everywhere and have the feel of a solid build when I hold it up to my eye. This camera has really brought about the using of my vintage lenses into a modern (read digital) way. The only thing that keeps me from making a full switch to the Fuji system is the fact that I cannon shoot tethered yet.
