It has been 5 months.
5 months since the island of Puerto Rico was ravished by Hurricane Maria. I went to Puerto Rico at the end of January just to put my eyes on the devastation that the people experienced. Lots of work needs to be done, but I want to share some of what I saw, and a little taste of what my camera saw.

What have I been doing recently? Well I traveled to Puerto Rico to see how things are with my own eyes.
I captured tons of content. Which is visable on my two Instagram accounts @giovanni_arroyo_photography and @gdotarroyo.
I also took my 3DR Solo with me and captured aerial video. The first of which I am sharing above. You will be able to check out more on my Youtube Channel.
All photos and video were captured with my travel trifecta: Fuji XE-1, GoPro Hero 4 Silver or iPhone 7 Plus.
Don’t you want to visit Puerto Rico? There is a lot more to our island than just Old San Juan.

I shot this video while my wife was out exercising and exploring. This is a nature preserve in Algonquin, Illinois. The video was captured using a GoPro Hero 4+ Silver and 3DR Solo drone. It was edited using Premiere Pro CC. Can you tell that I like shooting with the quadcopter?

When I first purchased my GoPro Hero 4 Silver I thought it would be fun to capture video and photos from my UAV. I turns out that I really like this simple little camera with a very wide field of view.
I’ve gone from my GoPro tagging along with me to turning into the only camera I take to certain events. It lets me capture photos, time lapse video and slow motion videos. All this in a simple small and relatively inexpensive form factor.

This past week I introduced my GoPro Hero 4 to my DJI F450 quadcopter. In the video above you can see how it is attached on a 3 axis gimbal. This allows it to stay steady even when I’m flying around. I have since also added a transmitter and monitor which will allow me to see on the ground what my camera sees in the air.
Now I just have to wait until we get some decent weather. I can’t wait to capture some video and especially photos from an all new perspective.
