My Morning Routine

My Morning Routine

I wanted to test my GoPro Hero 5 Session’s abilities.
Dark, indoor, overexposed, outdoor, motion.
I pretty much put the little camera through its paces. I think I tried everything, you can see where it held up well, and where the footage fell apart.
Overall I fell it was a decent test and a look at what we do every morning.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.

Premier Pro + GoPro

This past weekend our family visited the Kalahari Resort located in the Wisconsin Dells. I only took my GoPro, initially thinking I was going to capture a bunch of video. At the last minute, I decided to just sit back and enjoy myself and not worry about shot lists and capturing footage. I also didn’t think I would put together a video.

Well, the girls did capture GoPro footage, and I ended up putting together this short video:

What do you think? I don’t think it is too bad considering the girls captured the majority of the footage. read more

Lightroom Tutorial | Changing the crop overlay

The video below has my “1st” of many Lightroom Tutorials. I plan to share a short video talking about a specific action regularly. This week we will be touching on the Crop Overlay Tool. How can I change it?

There are many reasons why you may want to change the tool, but the main one I can think of is to help out with different compositional elements. Move away from the rule of thirds and try to compose an image to one of the other “rules”

You will need a basic understanding of Lightroom for this to be helpful. Take a workshop! read more

Lightroom Export to WordPress Tutorial

A few weeks ago the folks at Automattic (better know as the WordPress company) released a plugin for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. This plugin lets you export directly from Lightroom to your WordPress media gallery.

This saves a step in my Lightroom workflow. As you know I want to be as efficient as possible, so I will take anything that lets me remove a step.

You can download the plugin here: https://apps.wordpress.com/lightroom/

Combining Lightroom Catalogs Tutorial

Below you will find a short video tutorial for combining Adobe Photoshop Lightroom catalogs.

As many of you know, during my Lightroom workshops, I suggest starting a new catalog each calendar year. Well this year I am going to be trying something different. I am not going to be creating a new catalog. Instead I am going to try working from a master catalog. I will be continuing my organization structure from there on. During class I plan on sharing my new workflow. I am constantly learning, adjusting and changing how I work in Lightroom. Hopefully I can make Lightroom easier for you. read more

Fine tuning my Lightroom workflow

I am constantly fine tuning my Lightroom workflow.

I purchased a midi controller which I mapped to different sliders in the Lightroom develop module.

Now with keyboard shortcuts, pen tablet and the midi controller I rarely have to touch a mouse. My workflow has been refined more, I am spending less time in Lightroom and less time on the computer.

Want to learn more about my Adobe Photoshop Lightroom workflow? Join me for this workshop.

Tutorial for Animating a Photograph | Plotograph Like Actions SAVE $$$

Below is a short video tutorial on using an action I found on DIY Photography blog.

I forgot to mention in the video that you need to download and add the action to Photoshop prior to animation.

You can download here: https://gum.co/BCbDq.

After downloading I simply clicked the action and Photoshop opened and added the action automatically.

Don’t forget that I have the Adobe Creative Cloud and only tested this on the most recent version of Photoshop. You mileage may vary. 🙂 read more
