I am very inspired, the next month is going a very exciting for me especially concerning film photography. Two big things are happening.
The first one is this Friday the 4th. I am heading to see the documentary “Finding Vivian Maier“. It opens in the Chicago area on this day and I’m taking a fellow Maier fan, my 8 year old daughter. I have been patiently waiting for this to come out for a few years. If (and I don’t know why you wouldn’t) follow me on Facebook you know how much I am a fan of Ms. Maier.
The second is coming up on April 13th. I will be teaching Simply Learn | Film Photography at the Starline Gallery and Studios in Harvard, Il. This workshop is part of Nancy Merkling’s Simply Learn series of workshops designed to be easily digestible. Film Photography, is really an introduction into the wonderful world of film photography. I plan on sharing what people will need to get started, some of the common terms, my hybrid workflow (hint I don’t have a dedicated dark room), and to give workshop attendees a chance to play with some of film cameras that I’ve collected and used. If you are even a bit curious about using film, or want to get back into shooting film, this is the workshop for you.
